Josh Langston is pretty coy about why he put pen to paper for his latest single She Goes Crazy. “It came directly from one of those contentious arguments with my wife,” he chuckles. “That’s pretty much it. Let’s leave it at that.”
For the red dirt veteran, this music has been a long time coming. “It’s the first fully produced recording I’ve done in thirteen years. I thought it was a good starting point to show people where we’re at now and introduce the audience to our new sound.” What has the singer-songwriter been up to since his last release? “I’ve been feeding cattle and playing golf,” he says with a sly laugh. Between rounds and taking care of his livestock, he’s been itching to get back into the studio. “We recorded [She Goes Crazy] with David Deaton. I haven’t toured for over a decade and haven’t released music even longer. He did my last studio album, so I went back into the studio with him. This time we recorded at Fox Trot Studios in Shreveport. I took the acoustic demo we did with Smith Music and he took over from there.” Josh has been getting a kick of playing in front of a live audience again. “It’s done well at the live show over the last year we’ve been playing it. With a band, acoustic, it’s all been great response.”
Having been off radar for some time, Josh is ready to hit the road again. “I’m back. I’m doing this full time. Putting everything into it. We’re now on Gordy’s Two Lane management who produces the Hwy 30 Music Fest. We just got to play that festival with Turnpike Troubadours, Koe Wetzel, and others. We’re just excited to be back”
